Senior GCP Architect - Contract

Harnham is partnering with a leading consulting firm supporting a major gaming client on a large-scale cloud transformation and AI infrastructure programme.

• Role: Senior GCP Architect
• Location: Remote (US)
• Rate: $85-$105/hour
• Duration: Through February 2027 (likely extension)
• Hours: 40 hours per week

We're looking for a hands-on Senior Cloud Architect to provide technical leadership across cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, and AI/ML workloads running on Google Cloud Platform. This is a delivery-focused role supporting an active enterprise programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cloud architecture across multiple engineering teams
• Design and optimize large-scale GCP environments
• Drive Kubernetes and Terraform best practices
• Support AI/ML infrastructure and platform initiatives
• Troubleshoot complex cloud and production issues
• Review architecture designs and mentor engineering teams
• Partner with stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure cloud solutions

Requirements

• Strong GCP architecture experience
• Deep expertise with Kubernetes and Terraform
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud environments
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking, security, and infrastructure design
• Previous consulting or client-facing experience
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Nice to Have

• AI/ML infrastructure experience
• Exposure to large-scale compute or distributed training environments
• Gaming or digital product industry experience
• Multi-cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
