MaineHealth Maine Medical Center is seeking a fellowship-trained Head and Neck Surgical Oncologist to join the Division of Otolaryngology in Portland, Maine.
This is an opportunity to join a mature, high-volume head and neck oncology program within Maine's largest tertiary referral center. The program currently includes two fellowship-trained head and neck surgeons, two dedicated advanced practice providers, established multidisciplinary workflows, and a strong regional referral base across the MaineHealth system.
The ideal candidate will have training and clinical interest in comprehensive head and neck oncologic surgery. Candidates with microvascular reconstructive training and/or transoral robotic surgery experience are especially encouraged to apply.
Position Highlights
* Join an established Head and Neck Oncology program with immediate access to operative and clinic volume.
* Practice at Maine Medical Center, Maine's premier tertiary referral hospital, with broad oncologic case complexity.
* Access to a single-port robotic surgical platform, with opportunity to participate in and help grow a TORS program.
* Work within a collaborative team model including dedicated head and neck APP support.
* Participate in a twice-monthly multidisciplinary Head and Neck Tumor Board with strong engagement from radiation oncology, medical oncology, pathology, radiology, speech-language pathology, nutrition, nursing navigation, and supportive care.
* Participate in a multidisciplinary Head and Neck clinic.
* Opportunity to contribute to program development, care pathway design, quality improvement, clinical growth, and regional outreach.
* Maintain a focused head and neck oncology practice with the option to participate in broader otolaryngology care depending on candidate interest and departmental need.
Clinical Model and Support
* Shared call model across a group of 12 otolaryngologists.
* Inpatient care supported by a dedicated ENT hospitalist service.
* Established referral patterns throughout MaineHealth and the broader region.
* Strong clinic, operative, inpatient, and advanced practice infrastructure.
* Meaningful clinical autonomy within a collaborative group practice.
* Opportunity to build or expand areas of subspecialty focus within head and neck oncology, endocrine surgery, transoral robotic surgery, cutaneous oncology, salivary surgery, survivorship, or reconstruction.

Qualifications
* MD or DO from an accredited medical school
* Board Certified or Board Eligible in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery
* Fellowship training in Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery
* Eligibility for medical licensure in Maine
* Microvascular reconstructive training or interest preferred
* TORS experience or interest preferred but not required
