Our client, a growing consumer brand and media company, is seeking an experienced Head of People to lead talent acquisition, culture, and people strategy as the organization builds out a new office. This is a hands-on leadership role for an HR professional who thrives on building programs within a smaller, fast-moving organization. The role partners closely with senior leadership on recruiting, organizational design, and employee experience.

Responsibilities:

• Lead full-cycle recruiting across multiple functions and business areas
• Build direct sourcing strategies, using outside agencies selectively
• Establish and maintain a strong company culture and employee experience
• Oversee onboarding, internal communications, and recognition programs
• Partner with leadership on organizational design and workforce planning
• Support workforce transitions including retention and relocation decisions
• Develop a performance and development cycle and coach managers through it
• Supervise a people operations team member and oversee the broader function
• Serve as first point of contact for employee relations matters
• Maintain multi-state employment compliance

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in Human Resources or People Operations
• 3+ years leading an HR or People function or major component
• Demonstrated experience managing in-house recruiting at volume
• Experience building people programs within a smaller organization
• Working knowledge of multi-state employment law
• Comfortable operating as a hands-on leader with a lean team
• Experience in media, entertainment, or consumer brand environments a plus
• SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification a plus
