The Health Care Technician I position is primarily responsible for providing direct care and person centered supports to residents with complex physical, intellectual, medical, and behavioral needs. Health Care Technician I focus on providing services to enhance the quality-of-life of their residents in a caring home environment with dignity and respect, offering choices and options to support individuality. Duties include completing nursing assistant assignments while maintaining optimal gross/fine motor skills, ensuring activities of daily living (mealtime, dressing, bathing, grooming, etc.) while supporting the highest level of independence. This position is responsible for ensuring all health and safety needs are met for assigned residents per regulatory guidelines. Health Care Technician I are responsible for ensuring confidentiality and compliance with the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) in all aspects of communication. To be considered for employment the applicant must be in good standing with the NC Health Care Personnel Registry. Employee will be required to successfully complete training through our Staff Development department which includes but is not limited to NCI (North Carolina Intervention), CPR, Body Mechanics and lifting.
The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
- Knowledgeable and skilled in nursing care techniques.
- Ability to communicate observations and recommendations effectively and accurately in written and verbal form.
- Ability to communicate in a respectful manner to residents, family/guardians, co-workers, and others.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team while maintaining a professional, pleasant demeanor in work relationships.
- Ability to learn behavior management interventions and support counseling relationships.
Management Preference
- Experience providing direct care and person centered supports to residents with complex physical, intellectual, medical, and behavioral needs.
This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.

Salary Grade: $31,200 - $46,348
Recruitment Range: $35,360.00 - $38,688.00
A Sign-on bonus of $2,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.
