The Hospice Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, overseeing, and supporting hospice volunteers who provide compassionate services to patients, families, and the organization. This role maintains and ensures compliance with federal, state, and organizational requirements while promoting meaningful volunteer engagement that enhances the quality of hospice care. Recruit, screen, interview, onboard, and train volunteers, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. Match volunteers to patients, families, and organizational assignments, providing ongoing supervision, coaching, and performance feedback. Maintain accurate volunteer records and ensure compliance with Medicare and state regulations. Develop and implement volunteer engagement, recognition, retention, and program effectiveness initiatives. Serve as a liaison between volunteers, patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team; participate in team meetings and address concerns professionally. Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives, program assessment, special projects, events, and community outreach.
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent education credential (GED) One year of experience in social work, human services, or related field Preferred Requirements: Bachelor's Degree Previous Hospice Volunteer Experience Regular Standard Hours Per Week : 20 Schedule : Part-time (2 - 39 hours)
