Clinical Director

The Clinical Director is one of the senior clinical leaders and as such, oversees and manages the operations and administrative functions of their clinic. The Clinical Director directly supervises, mentors and coaches clinicians and is responsible for the performance and results of the clinical team, ensuring that clients and families are receiving high quality, effective services to address client needs. The Clinical Director & Lead BCBA ensures the consistent implementation and effective management of clinical policies, procedures and best practices.

Responsibilities include demonstrating Caravel's key leadership skills, effectively leading the clinical team, managing clinical staff, providing guidance, developing and communicating clinical team objectives, setting and communicating performance standards, completing and/or approving performance evaluations, overseeing the intake process with new clients, serving as a liaison between clinicians and administrative staff, developing, communicating, and implementing appropriate policies and procedures, demonstrating competence in skills outlined in the BACB task list, conducting supervisory and program management responsibilities for families participating in autism treatment, establishing individualized home-based behavior intervention programs, ensuring all standards of care are followed, overseeing client programming, interacting with clinical teams to communicate programming recommendations, ensuring the change in level of care is communicated, completing appropriate reports and documentation, proactively addressing client issues, soliciting feedback from parents/families, ensuring parent/family concerns are addressed, interacting with others outside of the organization regarding client care, participating in IEP meetings, providing information, ABA strategies, and training to family members, maintaining professional boundaries, representing the organization in a professional manner, abiding by all ethical standards, monitoring and overseeing all clinic spending, submitting clinical expense reimbursements, monitoring overtime of staff and case overages, monitoring productivity and efficiency reports, marketing the organization externally, coordinating, promoting, and attending community events, participating in networking events, communicating and networking regularly with county and agency contacts.

Requirements

Education

• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) with a minimum of 400 hours of hands-on training in providing ABA services directly to children and/or adults with autism under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst who has at least two years of experience in ABA programming for individuals with autism, or actively pursuing such certification.
• A Bachelor's Degree in a human services discipline and at least 2,000 hours of training or supervised experience in the use of behaviorally based therapy models consistent with best practice and research on effectiveness for children with autism spectrum disorders who meet all criteria to receive this service, OR
• Must be legally authorized to perform psychotherapy, with either a Master's Degree in one of the behavioral sciences who has at least 400 hours of training or supervised experience in the use of behaviorally-based therapy models consistent with best practice and research on effectiveness for children with autism spectrum disorders, in addition to, or as part of their 3,000 hours of training/supervision; and have sufficient written evidence of training and/or education in the method of evidence-based therapy being delivered, prior to the provision of services.

Experience

• At least five years' experience as a Lead BCBA, Supervisor or Senior Therapist implementing behaviorally based techniques with children and adolescents.
• Proven leadership experience.
