Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

Open to ICC CNA students enrolled for the Fall 2026 semester only.

The Education Stipend will be issued as a one-time payment of $1,700 and will be considered taxable income.

This is an education stipend opportunity. To be eligible for the education stipend, recipients must be of legal age to sign a contract, which is at least 18 years old. Upon completion of the ICC CNA program, education stipend recipients will enter a Patient Care Technician, or other role requiring a CNA certification at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

Position Summary: The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant
  • CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Six months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
  • Six months experience in supporting physical, emotional, and psycho-social needs of patients
