Schedule:

  • Full-time
  • 7 days on / 7 days off
  • Shifts:
    • Weekdays: 10:00 AM – 8:30 PM
    • Weekends: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
    • Weekend and holidays as they fall on scheduled rotation

In this role you will:

  • Refill and maintain automated dispensing machines
  • Assist with preparation of compounded sterile products
  • Deliver medications safely and accurately to nursing units

National Pharmacy Technician Certification (required)Pharmacy Technician license (required)Prior inpatient or hospital pharmacy experience preferred

Barnes Jewish West County Hospital Pharmacy is responsible for the Medication Management of patients by procuring, storing, and distributing medications throughout the hospital. The pharmacy is also involved with many patient safety and quality processes to optimize medication administration.


Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

The Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient 2, under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and according to standard procedures, prepares medication orders, and assists in dispensing & transporting medications. This position also conducts sterile and/or non-sterile compounding, uses various automated/electronic systems and maintains the required documentation & records.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains quality assurance standards and required documentation; maintains regulatory cleanliness compliance.
  • Assists in the preparation of medication orders, to include workflow management, basic preparation & dispensing, and non-sterile compounding.
  • Uses automated/electronic systems to manage product preparation, inventory, patient records, and regulatory compliance.
  • Supports various inventory activities, to include inventory storage, ordering, rotating, beyond use dating, and cleanliness.
  • Pursues proficiency in compounding sterile preparations and/or other advanced skills.
