The Inside Sales Representative at Link Tool is a customer-facing, cross-functional role responsible for managing RFQs, pricing, quoting, and order execution for the Link Tool business. This position represents a step above traditional customer service, requiring strong commercial judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively across sales, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
This role is integral to Link Tool's growth strategy and plays a key role in margin management, customer satisfaction, and business performance visibility. The position is based on-site in a casual office environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Own incoming RFQs from receipt through quotation, coordinating with internal manufacturing and engineering teams as needed.
- Develop accurate customer quotes by applying pricing strategies, cost inputs, and margin targets.
- Manage pricing for new and existing products to ensure alignment with business profitability goals.
- Respond to customer quote requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Enter customer sales orders accurately into the Link Tool system and confirm order details with customers.
- Enter intercompany purchase orders for outsourced or intercompany production.
- Set up new parts and customer-specific configurations within the system.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers regarding orders, lead times, and delivery status.
- Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and operations to align customer expectations with manufacturing capabilities.
- Track orders end-to-end, including order confirmation, production status, shipment tracking, and receipt at the Link Tool warehouse.
- Investigate late or delayed orders and communicate root causes and corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain reports that provide visibility into quoting activity, order backlog, on-time delivery, and other key performance indicators.
- Analyze trends and performance data, sharing insights with the broader organization to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
Secondary responsibilities:
- Provide phone coverage and support during absences.
- Request and manage raw material and outside processing quotes as needed.
- Enter work orders for production, remakes, or order splits.
- Order materials from external suppliers.
- Support production planning or scheduling activities as needed.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce manual paperwork, and improve data accuracy
- Other duties as required.
