Position Summary

To manually inspect filled finished product containers for injection and remove any container whose contents show evidence of contamination with visible foreign matter or other defects that have been established by the company's SOP's and inspection training.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Percentage of Time

  • Learn and apply the different inspection techniques needed to become a certified inspector for the different types of products in the different types of containers and container sizes (examples are: Emulsions, Suspensions, Lyophilized, and Liquid filled products in glass or polymer container). - 30%
  • Learn to become a Certified Inspector and be able to setup, maintain, and operate the semi-automatic inspection machine (Dabrico). - 30%
  • During inspection, remove and discard product that exhibits evidence of a defect type which has been established in the SOPs and training. Tally the defects by classification and record final results in the batch record. - 10%
  • Ensure production levels are maintained. Maintain communication between leads, shifts, and Quality Assurance for high quantity of defects found during inspection or if an unusual defect type is found. - 10%
  • Perform daily in-house cleaning during the setup and or operation of the Production Lines and Dabrico semi-automated inspection machines. - 10%
  • Work in other areas of Packaging as required (i.e. hand packing, kit assembly). - 10%
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment while complying with all cGMPs and SOP's. - Always

Primary Outcomes

  • Demonstrate good organizational skills.
  • Ensure product is inspected in accordance with company SOPs, cGMPs, and CFRs.
  • Be able to inspect per the required inspection criteria outline in the appropriate SOPs.
  • Ability to cross-train in others areas of Packaging

Position Requirements

Education Required: - High school education or equivalent

Education Preferred: - High school education

Experience Required: - A minimum of 1-2 years related production experience.20/20 vision with corrective lenses.Ability to pay close attention to detail.Ability to pass Inspector certification training/ testing.

Experience Preferred: - Experience as Material Handler preferred.

Specialized or Technical Knowledge Licenses, Certifications needed: - Previous inspector or pharmaceutical experience

Technical

  • Ability to demonstrate and comprehend product inspection techniques.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs, Safety, SOP procedures and guidelines.

Planning & Organizational

  • Ability to follow instructions, production schedule and adapt to changes based on the company production demands.

Interpersonal

  • Good communication skills with co-workers, Quality Assurance and Management.

Communication

  • Ability to read, write and follow written instructions in English.

Autonomy and Independence

  • Must be able to work independently during certification process and possible production activities.
