Job Description
Prominent international law firm is in need of an Intellectual Property Litigation Paralegal for the Washington DC office.
The Intellectual Property Litigation Paralegal will:
- Assist attorneys with all phases of intellectual property litigation, including patent disputes and UCC law matters, ensuring adherence to procedural requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal databases to support case strategy and filings.
- Manage and organize case files using document review platforms such as iManage and document management systems to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
- Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, responses, and correspondence with clients and courts.
- Coordinate depositions, interviews, and meetings by scheduling appointments and preparing necessary documentation.
- Maintain detailed case calendars to track deadlines, court dates, and procedural milestones across multiple cases.
- Support administrative functions such as data entry, filing, and maintaining client confidentiality in compliance with firm policies.
- Facilitate communication between clients, attorneys, experts, and court personnel to ensure timely updates on case developments.
- Have extensive knowledge of intellectual property law including patent law and UCC law; familiarity with other areas such as environmental law or tribal regulations is a plus.
