Inventory Control Specialist

The Inventory Control Specialist supports daily warehouse and inventory operations by maintaining accurate inventory records, executing material movements, and ensuring efficient use of SAP Business One. This role focuses on inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and reconciliation between physical stock and system records while contributing to smooth material flow across warehouse and production areas.

Responsibilities

• Support daily warehouse and inventory operations across company facilities to ensure accurate material flow and timely product availability.
• Process inventory transactions, including receiving, transfers, and product movements, using internal systems such as SAP Business One.
• Maintain accurate inventory records by performing regular cycle counts, reconciliation audits, and periodic physical inventory counts.
• Research and resolve inventory discrepancies by reviewing transaction history and investigating inventory variances.
• Receive incoming materials, verify quantities and condition, and perform proper material put-away procedures in designated storage locations.
• Label materials clearly and maintain accurate material location records within the inventory system to support efficient retrieval and storage.
• Move materials throughout warehouse and production areas, including transfers between storage, staging, and production locations.
• Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, or other transportation vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, pallet lifts, and other material handling equipment as required to support warehouse operations.
• Apply strong problem-solving skills to identify inventory issues, investigate transaction records, and assist in resolving material shortages, shipment problems, and inventory variances.
• Organize and prioritize daily inventory activities to meet operational deadlines in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Collaborate effectively with warehouse, production, purchasing, and inventory personnel to ensure accurate material flow and operational coordination.
• Communicate clearly with team members and management regarding inventory issues, material shortages, damaged shipments, and other operational concerns.
• Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve inventory organization, storage efficiency, and warehouse processes.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines while performing physical tasks such as standing and walking for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and pushing, pulling, or moving materials using pallet jacks, carts, or other material handling equipment.

Essential Skills

• 25 years of experience in inventory control, including inventory accuracy and reconciliation between physical inventory and system records.
• Hands-on experience with SAP, specifically SAP Business One, for inventory management and transaction processing.
• Proficiency in inventory management practices such as cycle counts, data entry, and maintaining organized inventory systems.
• Working knowledge of warehouse operations, including receiving, material handling, storage procedures, and inventory tracking.
• Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, pallet lifts, and other material handling equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, material shortages, shipment issues, and inventory variances.
• Effective work organization and task management skills to prioritize multiple inventory activities in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear and effective communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and report inventory-related issues.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and push, pull, or move materials with material handling equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience performing cycle counts, reconciliation audits, and physical inventory counts.
• Background in shipping and receiving within a warehouse inventory environment.
• Knowledge of electrical manufacturing or similar production environments.
• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred.
• Experience supporting inventory operations across multiple facilities.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and process optimization in warehouse and inventory workflows.

Work Environment

This position operates primarily in an electrical manufacturing environment, with daily work performed in warehouse and production areas. The role routinely involves using warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, pallet lifts, and other material handling tools. Work may occasionally extend to nearby facilities to support broader operations. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, requiring frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and moving materials using carts and pallet jacks. Attire is typical for an active warehouse and production setting, emphasizing safety and practicality while working around industrial equipment and materials.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Corona, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
