Mission Health, a leading healthcare provider based in Asheville, NC, is seeking an experienced IR Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Working collaboratively with interventional radiologists, technologists, anesthesiologists, and fellow nurses, you will be responsible for pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient care, including assessment, education, monitoring, and recovery. The IR Registered Nurse will prepare procedure rooms, verify consents, ensure accurate patient identification, initiate IV access, administer medications and moderate sedation per protocol, and continuously monitor patients’ hemodynamic and respiratory status throughout procedures. You will respond rapidly to changes in patient condition, assist with emergency interventions, and maintain strict adherence to infection prevention, radiation safety, and hospital policies. This position requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and organized while managing multiple patients and complex cases. You will document all aspects of care accurately in the electronic medical record, coordinate care transitions with other hospital departments, and provide patient and family education regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and follow-up care.
