Shipping Crating/Material Handler

Sun Mountain, Inc., an industry-leading manufacturer of custom doors and other architectural millwork products, has an opening for full-time Shipping Crating/Material Handlers, building wooden crates and packaging products for shipping and delivery. The shift is Monday through Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM. Overtime is frequent (but not guaranteed), and the candidate must be available to work overtime on some weekdays (with weekends free).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Constructing crates (on pallets) for doors, mouldings, and beams.
• Loading and unloading trucks.
• Accessing information via computer.
• Printing packing lists/schedules, and referencing them to complete orders.
• Occasional travel with drivers to make deliveries in Colorado.
• Working in cooperation with a small group.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum one year of warehousing/material handling experience desired.
• Transferable skills include experience as a wood framer, furniture packer or mover, construction, repair or handyman work, or shipping large or bulky items.

Qualifications:

• Solid record of attendance.
• Reliable transportation.
• Experience moving large or bulky products.
• Experience using hand tools including nail guns and saws.
• Good math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Accurate reading and use of a tape measure.
• Ability to access information and print from a computer.
• Proven reliability and dependability.
• Flexibility, including the ability to adapt to changes in priority.
• Forklift operation experience is a plus.

Physical Demands:

• Safety glasses must be worn at all times.
• Ability to lift 125 pounds.

Min Salary: USD $20.00/Yr.

Max Salary: USD $23.00/Yr.
