General Summary:
A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides compassionate, patient-centered nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider (MD, NP, PA, etc.). This role is responsible for delivering high-quality clinical support, ensuring patient safety, and promoting wellness through skilled nursing practices, education, and collaboration with the healthcare team.
Primary Responsibilities:
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job responsibilities performed.
* Provides direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, performing wound care, obtaining specimens for laboratory examinations, and carrying out provider orders for routine treatments, in accordance with the state of Maryland Nurse Practice Act and Regulations.
* Monitors patients for changes in condition and promptly reports concerns to supervising clinicians.
* Collects patient health information, documents assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record.
* Assists RNs and providers with examinations, procedures, and treatment plans.
* Provides support for patient and family education regarding treatments, medications, and care plans.
* Maintains infection control standards, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
* Coordinates with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity and quality of care.
* Maintains medical supplies, equipment, and inventory as needed.
* Participates in quality improvement initiatives and staff meetings.
* Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Work Experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
* Strong knowledge of basic nursing principles, pharmacology, and clinical procedures.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
* Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Minimum Education, Experience, and License/Certification Required:
* Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses is required.
* Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing Education Program approved by the State of Maryland is required.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross).
* ACLS, PALS preferred

Compensation:
* Full-Time, Mid Shift/Eve - ED (11a-11p)
* Pay Range: $27.44/hr. - $38.41/hr.
