Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Virginia-licensed emergency medicine physicians for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity at a Level III Trauma Center in Blacksburg, Virginia. This position involves providing emergency care at a 146-bed hospital with integrated EMR, including cross-credentialing at a freestanding emergency department, with shifts covering days, nights, and holidays.

Practice Environment
This opportunity is based within a fully accredited community hospital serving the greater Blacksburg region. Providers will work within a structured emergency department environment supported by experienced staff, with staffing based on 48-hour physician and 24-hour NP/PA coverage. The hospital utilizes Meditech EMR and is recognized for safety and quality care.

Clinical Scope

• Evaluation, stabilization, and treatment of trauma, cardiac, and general emergency cases
• Management of patients of all ages
• Collaboration with APPs, nursing teams, and specialists
• Disposition, transfer, and discharge coordination
• Documentation in Meditech EMR

Candidate Requirements

• Active Virginia medical license and DEA registration
• ABEM certification or eligibility within 7 years of residency completion
• ACLS, PALS, and ATLS required (ATLS mandatory; ACLS/PALS if not EM Board Certified)
• Willing to work days, nights, and holidays
• Experience in emergency medicine preferred; moonlighting residents welcome
