This role involves inpatient neonatal care within a pediatric hospital setting, offering a call-only schedule with 24-hour beeper shifts on specified dates, focusing on critical neonatal procedures and clinical management.

Practice Environment
This opportunity is based within a pediatric inpatient hospital setting in Eureka, California. Providers will deliver neonatal inpatient care, working alongside nursing and support staff in a structured environment designed for critical neonatal procedures and management.

Clinical Scope

  • Neonatal airway management including intubation
  • Management of neonatal air leak/pneumothorax including needle decompression
  • Emergent UVC placement in delivery room
  • UVC/UAC placement
  • Lumbar puncture
  • EKG interpretation
  • Ventilator management (preferred)
  • Chest tube insertion in neonates (preferred)

Candidate Requirements

  • Active California medical license
  • DEA registration
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible within 3–5 years of residency
  • NRP certification
  • Current CV with hospital affiliations and case logs (including surgical specialties where applicable)
  • Hospital privileges require 2 years of current clinical activity in the specialty; gaps over 3 months must be explained
