Emergency Department Features include:
- Approximately 20,000–40,000 annual patient visits
- Approximately 70–90 patient visits per day
- Community emergency medicine with moderate acuity
- Dedicated FastTrack operating daily
- Level III Trauma Center
- Accredited Chest Pain Program
- Primary Stroke Program
- Adult and pediatric emergency care
- Efficient patient throughput
- Modern diagnostic imaging and laboratory services
Practice Environment
Emergency Medicine APPs practice within a collaborative physician-led model designed around efficient patient care and clearly defined clinical responsibilities.

Clinical Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat emergency department patients
- Manage urgent and emergent medical conditions
- Perform procedures within APP scope including:
- Laceration repair
- Splinting
- Incision and drainage
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies
- Collaborate with supervising physicians
- Coordinate specialty consultations and admissions
- Complete timely documentation utilizing Meditech EMR
Required
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Active Kentucky License
- Active DEA Registration
- Minimum one to two years of Emergency Medicine experience preferred
- Comfortable treating adult and pediatric patients
- Ability to work both day and night shifts
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS
- ATLS
