This cancer center operates at the hospital providing specialized hematology and oncology services. The facility maintains established protocols for comprehensive cancer and blood disorder treatment delivery with coordinated care between outpatient services.

Martinsville offers motorsports entertainment and natural history attractions, with Martinsville Speedway serving as a prominent racing venue and the Virginia Museum of Natural History providing educational exhibits. The area features outdoor recreational opportunities including Philpott Lake, the Smith River, and trail systems such as the Dick & Willie Passage Rail Trail for hiking and biking activities.

Clinicians will provide comprehensive outpatient hematology and oncology care working four 10-hour days Monday through Thursday managing 60% hematology and 40% oncology patients. Clinical responsibilities include managing 1:2 call coverage with approximately 2-3 calls per week from emergency room or hospitalist physicians for patient care guidance. Call responsibilities can be managed remotely with no expectation to return to the hospital. Documentation must be maintained through Meditech EMR for hospital systems and Aria EMR for oncology services.
