POSITION SUMMARY
This person will be responsible for operating, calibrating, and setting up computer-controlled laser cutting equipment to produce precision parts from raw materials in accordance with work orders, production schedules, and quality standards. Additionally, this person will support production efficiency by maintaining equipment performance and ensuring high-quality output.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate laser cutting equipment to produce parts according to work orders and inspection requirements
Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures
Load and unload sheet material onto laser cutting tables
Select and install appropriate lenses based on material type and thickness
Load programs and set machine parameters to optimize cutting performance
Remove finished components and inspect for defects and cut quality
Maintain working knowledge of shield gases used in laser cutting operations
Follow production schedules to meet manufacturing timelines
Perform initial inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards
Conduct routine cleaning and minor maintenance of laser equipment
Perform preventative maintenance tasks to maintain machine performance
Monitor assist gas and resonator gas levels to support production needs
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating CO2 or Fiber Laser equipment
Experience with Amada VPSS 4ie Blank software or similar preferred
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and engineering drawings
Understanding of tolerances and quality standards in manufacturing
Experience using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, optical comparators)
Basic math skills required for manufacturing calculations
Ability to operate and maintain production equipment
Flexibility to work assigned shifts as required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT
Routinely performs duties in a manufacturing environment
Must be able to stand, walk, and move for extended periods of time during a full shift
Must be able to lift, load, and handle materials as required
Must be able to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks
Exposure to manufacturing conditions including noise, heat, and dust
Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
