Pay Rate: $34.51 per hour
Location: Los Angeles, CA
2nd Shift
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday : 1:45PM-11:45PM
Responsibilities:
- Setup complex parts and operate machine without supervision.
- Interpret plans, work orders, blueprints, or drawings to determine the necessary work, with full understanding of GD&T.
- Inspect parts for quality and appropriate tolerance using tools such as micrometers, calipers, air gauges, and comparators.
- Finish all parts with different materials to close tolerance without supervision.
- Examine the surface of the workpiece for defects before starting work.
- Meet production and quality requirements at all times and maintain a clean work area.
- Modify machining feed and speeds on multiple material types and select tooling, gauges as required.
- Use measuring tools, air gauges, micrometers, and other inspection tools to verify part quality.
- Replace worn tools, inspect parts, and adjust tool offsets as needed.
- Be a team player and follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Drive for continuous process improvements.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in machining, honing, or lapping parts in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds often.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware subject to ITAR regulations. Applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR.
- No relocation benefit is offered; only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area (50 miles 90039) will be considered.
Preferred Skills:
- Aerospace experience preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in machining, honing, or lapping parts in a manufacturing environment.
- Involvement in successful process definition and re-engineering.
- Experience in employee involvement in multi-discipline teaming.
- Proficiency with computer-based methods and tools.
- Familiarity/experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, continuous improvement, and Six Sigma methodology.
