We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our Gynecology Medical Support Staff team. This position will also provide back up support to our Family and Internal Medicine Departments.
The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical staff. Primary responsibilities include assisting with patient exams, taking vital signs, and maintaining accurate medical records. This role includes preparing exam rooms, sterilizing equipment, and ensuring that medical supplies are properly stocked and organized. Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are essential to success in this position.
Hourly Range: $21.50 - $27.00, based on years of relevant experience.
Sign-On Bonus: eligible candidates will receive a $1,500 tiered sign-on bonus, paid in three installments.
Responsibilities:
- Room patients, record vital signs, and assist in the float station
- Administering injections, phlebotomy draws, perform EKGs, and assist with Gyn procedures
- Provide patient education, communicate effectively with patients and families, and ensure completion of required forms
- Document all relevant information in the electronic health record (eClinicalWorks)
- Maintain supplies, equipment, and sterilize instruments
- Follow procedures and policies to ensure a safe work environment and comply with OSHA standards
- Travel to other clinic locations as requested
- Cross-train to provide back up support to the Family Medicine and Internal Medicine Departments
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Completion of a Medical Assisting program required
- Medical Assistant Certification Preferred
- Current CPR Certification
- Reliable and motivated team player who is committed to making a positive impact on patient care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; with the ability to develop rapport and maintain positive relationships with patients, staff, and physicians
- Ability to perform a variety of patient care tasks
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse populations and commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion
