What You'll Do as a Medical Assistant
- Provide both clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced outpatient medical office
- Assist with exams, procedures, vital signs, and patient preparation under provider supervision
- Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic health record (EHR)
- Schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and support smooth clinic flow
- Educate patients about treatments, medications, and procedures
- Ensure a professional, patient-centered environment that promotes safety and comfort
Qualifications
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
- Previous experience in healthcare or a clinical setting preferred
Required Licensure/Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (required at hire)
- RMA, AAMA, or CCMA certification required within one year of hire
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based healthcare environment
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and EHR systems
Physical & Work Environment
Physical Demands
- Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods
- Lifting/carrying medical supplies and equipment (up to 50 lbs occasionally)
- Frequent bending, reaching, and manual dexterity for procedures and equipment use
- Clear verbal communication with patients and team members
Working Conditions
- Indoor clinical environment with exposure to medical equipment and instruments
- Regular interaction with patients, providers, and support staff
- Adherence to safety, infection control, and regulatory protocols
- May require flexibility in scheduling, including occasional evenings or weekends
