Open Door Health Services is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant at our White River location in Muncie, Indiana.
As an Open Door Medical Assistant, you will be part of a supportive, interdisciplinary team providing high-quality, compassionate care to individuals and families. Medical assistants perform a variety of patient care activities to support and assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and other medical staff. No clinical experience is necessary if you are certified by an accredited medical assistant program.
This position is located at 2600 W. White River Blvd.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare the patient for the provider by getting vital signs and the patient's primary complaint. You may also conduct additional testing and screenings (ex. UA dipstick, glucose reading, pregnancy testing, vision and hearing)
- Brief provider on patient's data and status
- Administer prescribed medications, immunizations and treatments as ordered
- Assist in screening telephone calls for referrals, lab results and prescription refills
- Performing quality checks and sterilizing, cleaning, and stocking exam rooms
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent. MA certification preferred
- At least one year of work experience in healthcare clinic/office if not certified
- CPR & first aid certification

Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to clinic environment.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range or use of approved adaptive equipment.
- Requires standing, walking or sitting for long periods of time. Occasional bending, stretching or lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Requires the ability to work under stressful situations.
