National Accounts Manager

We are seeking a National Accounts Manager to drive the growth of a rapidly expanding beverage brand across key national retail partners. This individual will play a critical role in launching and growing national chain accounts, developing strategic customer relationships, and executing initiatives that increase distribution, sales velocity, and long-term retail success.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the expansion and management of national chain accounts, including retailers such as Whole Foods, Sprouts, The Fresh Market, Fresh Thyme, and other key partners.
  • Develop launch strategies, promotional calendars, and costeffective retailer programming to support successful account execution.
  • Analyze promotional performance, trade spend, and ROI to improve profitability while driving sustainable sales growth.
  • Secure new distribution opportunities and oversee the onboarding process for new national retail accounts.
  • Partner with distributor partners to ensure accurate item setup, purchase order management, and timely product fulfillment.
  • Drive SKU expansion, increased distribution, and door growth by building strong retailer relationships and presenting new product innovations.
  • Grow existing business by securing additional SKUs, shelf placements, facings, and merchandising opportunities within current accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with buyers, brokers, and distributor account managers.
  • Establish priorities and strategies for third-party merchandising partners to maximize in-store execution and sales performance.
  • Analyze market trends, sales data, and business metrics to develop accurate forecasts aligned with production planning and growth initiatives.
  • Provide regular updates to executive leadership on retailer performance, priorities, forecasts, and strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations outlining account strategies, goals, performance, and growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Trade Marketing team to execute account-specific marketing programs, retail activations, and point-of-sale initiatives.
  • Manage the budget approval process and ensure responsible allocation of trade investments.
  • Participate in recurring sales meetings to share updates, address challenges, and align on company-wide objectives.
  • Represent the brand at industry trade shows and other key events.


Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of experience within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
  • 2–4 years of experience working directly with buyers and brokers across at least two national chain accounts, including Whole Foods and Sprouts.
  • Passion for building consumer brands and supporting a mission-driven organization.
  • Excited by the opportunity to thrive in an early-stage, high-growth environment.
  • Ability to think strategically and adapt quickly in a fast-changing business while driving sales objectives.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and consistently deliver results.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and asking thoughtful questions to solve complex challenges.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using collaboration platforms such as Slack and video conferencing tools.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support trade shows and special events.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, current vehicle registration, and proof of insurance required.
