Mount Sinai Downtown Union Square is a newly-renovated outpatient center, and a hub for primary and specialty care, diagnostic services, infusion center, and lab all in one convenient location in a vibrant community and easily accessible by public transportation. The Division of Nephrology of Mount Sinai Morningside and West, a part of the Mount Sinai Health System, is comprised of 7 full time and 3 part time nephrologists as well as 7 physician assistants and 1 nurse practitioner. The Division's mission is to deliver outstanding clinical care in all aspects of Nephrology, be outstanding educators of house staff and physician assistants, and advance knowledge in the field of Nephrology through clinical research. The Division of Nephrology at Mount Sinai Morningside/West, is the principal provider of Nephrology services on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and its clinical activities encompass busy outpatient faculty practices centered on CKD management, supervision of outpatient dialysis at and medical directorship of dialysis centers on the Upper West Side and inpatient consultations at both Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West Hospitals. Faculty members hold academic appointments at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai commensurate with experience and teach and supervise our physician assistants and Internal Medicine house staff.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative, clinical and teaching services for the Division of Nephrology.
Serve as a supervising physician, of the nephrology inpatient consultation and ESRD service at MSWest and MSMorningside, designated by the Division Chief, and will be accountable for the quality of medical care provided to patients. The inpatient role includes weekday and weekend rounds, and collaboration with the inpatient nurse practitioner and teaching of internal medicine residents.
Serve as an ambulatory specialty physician providing outpatient care for patients needing nephrology services under the auspices of the Medical Center's Faculty Practice Plan. This will include evening and weekend assignments.
Assure adequate participation in committees, and serve in future administrative roles, as designated by the Division Chief; including administrative functions to fully support efficient performance of the Division, Department and Medical Center in areas pertaining to your scope of responsibility.
Provide leadership to both professional and non-professional staff aligned within the scope of responsibility.
Be knowledgeable of, fully compliant with, and enforce all of the policies of the Medical Center and the Department.
Promptly prepare high quality reports, and appraisals, or other documents requested by the Division Chief.
Perform appropriate due diligence, in cooperation with division Chief and Medical Center administration in planning replacement or acquisition of equipment or technology.
Comply with quality initiatives of the Division, Department and Medical Center
Qualifications
Medical Degree from an Accredited University
New York Medical License
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Nephrology

A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven Health System
Compensation range from 278K to 402K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).
