The Mount Sinai Health System is recruiting an inspiring, dynamic, clinician-educator leader to join our current team of seven neurointensivists.

The Division of Neurocritical Care oversees two Neurosciences ICUs and cares for a wide range of neurologically injured patients. The Mount Sinai Hospital NSICU is a state of the art 16-bed unit with a focus on complex neurovascular and skull base surgeries. A major renovation of our Upper East Side campus is underway scheduled to be completed in 2028. This will see the NSICU footprint expand from 16 to 23 beds with a focus on integrating technologies meaningfully for patient and family centered care, a state-of-the-art conference room and private facilities for family members.

The NSICU located at Mount Sinai West is a 14-bed ICU with a special focus on the management of ICH, epilepsy, and movement disorders. In addition to ICU care, neurocritical care team oversees the management and transfer of over 1000 neurologic emergency cases per year across our health system. The division boasts a dually accredited neurocritical care fellowship program and has educational and research conferences fully integrated between campuses. Our robust research program spanning NIH and industry sponsored multicenter clinical trials, investigator-initiated studies, the Dangayach (Neuroemergencies Management and Transfers) NEMAT lab are supported by research infrastructure via the Department of Neurosurgery and Institute of Critical Care Medicine (ICCM). Over the next decade, the neurocritical care team is poised to expand into other Mount Sinai system hospitals and seeks a promising faculty member to grow their career with us.

Responsibilities:

* The Neurocritical Care Fellowship Program Director provides strategic and operational leadership for our ACGME and UCNS-accredited fellowship.

* The Program Director oversees curriculum development, simulation-based training, clinical training, fellow supervision and evaluation, recruitment, mentorship, faculty engagement, program improvement, and compliance with ACGME and institutional requirements.

* Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary faculty and GME leadership, ICCM; the Program Director ensures a rigorous, inclusive training environment that prepares fellows for independent practice and leadership in neurocritical care.

* Mount Sinai is the number one institution in the United States in NIH funding for Neurosciences. Our neurosurgical clinical research coordinator team of over 25 full-time personnel supports one of the most productive clinical research efforts in the country. All new faculty are supported to participate in and contribute to these efforts.

Qualifications:

* Medical Degree from an Accredited University

* New York Medical License

* Board Certified in Neurology

* Fellowship training in Neurocritical Care

* Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Graduate Medical Education

* Maintains up-to-date credentials including CV, License, DEA, CDS, Board Certification, documentation of hospital admitting privileges

* Maintains CME credit hours as required for Board Certification and/or hospital staff privileges

* Outstanding interpersonal, leadership, mentoring and teaching skills

* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbal and written

* Ability and interest to function as part of a team

* Exhibits a strong orientation toward the provision of high quality, cost effective, comprehensive medical care

* Demonstrates behavior that is courteous, caring, respectful, and compassionate. Listens and responds in a non-judgmental manner, with clear explanations

Compensation range from 300K to 375K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).
