Job Description

A pain management practice entering Ohio for the first time is hiring its first NPs and PAs in Cincinnati. It's a chance to help shape how geriatric pain care is delivered in a brand-new market. You'll round weekly on the same SNF residents and manage their pain medications, including controlled substances, with an MD on site. The practice wants providers who have done this before, with backgrounds in pain management, ortho, physiatry, SNF rounding, or hospice. New graduates are considered with RN experience in ortho, pain management, SNF, or high-volume ER. Malpractice with tail coverage is included, and more seats open as the practice adds facilities.

Pay is based on the visits you complete: $10 per visit, with a guaranteed $150 minimum at each facility you work at in a day. Each visit is a focused pain follow-up of about 10 minutes, not a full assessment. With a typical load of 40 to 50 patients, providers earn around $400 to $500 a day. Days covering several smaller facilities can pay more because the minimum applies at each one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a daily load of 40 to 50 focused pain management follow-ups
  • Tailor treatment plans for acute and chronic pain to each resident
  • Prescribe and manage pain medications independently, including controlled substances
  • Refer to physical therapy, acupuncture, spinal blocks, and interventional care when appropriate
  • Help patients and families understand their pain management plan
  • Partner with physicians and facility providers to monitor progress and adjust care
  • Document every visit in TEBRA and PointClickCare

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Ohio NP or PA license
  • AGACNP-BC, AGPCNP-BC, FNP-BC, or PA-C certification
  • Active DEA registration, or able to obtain one before start
  • Comfortable with 40 to 50 focused visits per day
  • Comfortable prescribing independently, including controlled substances
  • Fully onsite; comfortable traveling between Cincinnati area facilities
  • Preferred: experience in pain management, ortho, physiatry, SNF rounding, or hospice with controlled-substance prescribing
  • New grads considered with RN experience in ortho, pain management, SNF, or high-volume ER (county or trauma ER a strong plus)
  • TEBRA or PointClickCare experience a plus

Schedule & Compensation

  • $10 per completed visit | ~$400–$500/day at typical volume
  • $150 guaranteed minimum per facility per day (a floor, not an extra payment)
  • Full-time | Schedule varies by facility and caseload
  • Onsite at Cincinnati area skilled nursing facilities | MD on site
  • Malpractice with tail coverage | Structured onboarding
  • Licensure costs are the candidate's responsibility; no sign-on or relocation
  • Immediate hire
