Nurse Manager - Immediate Care

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to lead the day-to-day operations of a busy Ambulatory/Immediate Care Clinic in Commack, NY. This leadership role works closely with the Department Administrator to ensure efficient clinic operations, quality patient care, staff development, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support nursing and clinical staff within the ambulatory care setting.
• Partner with the Department Administrator on recruitment, onboarding, training, staff development, performance evaluations, and competency management.
• Triage patient phone calls and provide clinical guidance as appropriate.
• Review laboratory results and communicate abnormal findings to physicians.
• Oversee daily clinic operations, patient flow, room utilization, and scheduling efficiency.
• Develop, implement, and maintain clinic policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with DOH, JCAHO, HIPAA, and OSHA regulations.
• Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide clinical support to physicians and physician assistants as needed.
• Perform post-operative patient care and suture removals.
• Serve as a liaison between providers, staff, and patients to resolve operational and patient care concerns.
• Prepare operational, fiscal, and patient care reports as directed.
• Represent the department on committees and attend meetings and training programs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
Minimum 5 years of nursing experience
At least 3 years of supervisory and/or administrative experience
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree or other advanced nursing degree
• Prior ambulatory care and triage experience
• Knowledge of JCAHO and HIPAA standards
• Experience managing clinic operations and quality improvement initiatives

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent communication with patients, providers, and staff, as well as regular movement throughout the clinic to support daily operations and patient care activities.
