The Nurse Manager Med Surg/Tele

is responsible for 24-hour accountability of a patient care unit, including clinical leadership, personnel management, fiscal oversight, and continuous improvement of patient care services. This role ensures high-quality patient-centered care, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence while supporting staff development and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

Provide 24/7 accountability for patient care unit operations Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care Maintain compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory standards

Operations & Management

Manage staffing, scheduling, and daily operations Oversee departmental performance and workflow efficiency Support resource allocation and operational planning

Quality & Performance Improvement

Monitor patient outcomes and implement improvements Drive clinical best practices and quality initiatives Support continuous improvement and patient safety programs

Collaboration

Partner with physicians, clinical teams, and leadership Participate in hospital-wide initiatives and strategic goals Support a culture of interdisciplinary teamwork

Staff Development

Lead hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management Promote a positive, professional work environment Support ongoing education and competency development

Must-Have Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field Active California RN License (upon hire) BLS Certification American Heart Association (upon hire) Minimum 3 years of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting Strong clinical knowledge in Med Surg / Tele
