Essential Functions

ASSESSMENT: Develops, maintains, and evaluates patient and staff data collection systems and the processes to support the practice nursing and the delivery of patient/client/resident care.
PROBLEMS/DIAGNOSIS: Develops, maintains, and evaluates an environment that empowers and supports the professional nurse in analysis of assessment data and in decision to determine relevant problems and diagnosis.
IDENTIFICATION OF OUTCOMES: Develops, maintains, and evaluates information systems and processes that promote desired, patient/client/resident‐defined professional and organizational outcomes.
PLANNING/IMPLEMENTATION: Develops, maintains, and evaluates organizational systems that facilitate and support implementation of plans and the delivery of care across the continuum.
EVALUATION: Evaluates the plan and its progress in relationship to the attainment of outcomes.
QUALITY OF CARE AND ADMINISTRATIVE PRACTICE: Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and nursing services administration.
PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL: Evaluates personal performance based on professional practice standards, relevant statues, rules and regulations, and organizational criteria.
PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE: Maintains and demonstrates current knowledge of healthcare organizations to advance nursing practice and the provision of quality healthcare services.

COLLABORATION: Collaborates with nursing staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders.

Education/Experience
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor degree in Nursing
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible, relevant clinical experience
Preferred:
- Previous supervisory experience
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field
License/Certification
Minimum Required:
- Current New York State Registered Nurse License
Preferred:
- Professional certification in a related nursing specialty (Nursing Administration and/or clinical practice area)
Work Environment
- Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients. Rooms are air conditioned and heated.
- Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting.
- Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by UHS Hospitals Infection Control policies.
- Employees are required to have reasonable access to transportation to meet work requirements made in the ordinary course of business in a timely and efficient manner.
