What You'll Do as an OB/GYN Hospitalist

  • Care for pregnant patients presenting emergently, regardless of circumstance

  • Build strong relationships with nursing staff and hospital personnel

  • Support private practice physicians through coverage and collaboration

  • Manage unassigned patients and evaluate triage cases

  • Provide consultation to the Emergency Department

  • Monitor labor and deliver babies

  • Perform surgery and surgical assists

  • Evaluate and treat postpartum patients

  • Support OB resident and medical student education

  • Provide nursing support and education

  • Participate in emergency drills and simulations

  • Help develop best practices and participate in clinical trials

  • Lead daily interdisciplinary board rounds to improve patient safety
