Part of Louisiana Children's Medical Center Health, Lakeview Hospital is a full-service, acute care hospital that manages approximately 2,025 annual deliveries and 744 outpatient triage visits. The hospital has received several accolades for quality and safety, including a recent A grade from The Leapfrog Group. Becker's Hospital Review has named it a Great Community Hospital.

Covington, Louisiana, sits on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, offering a small-town atmosphere with easy access to New Orleans about 40 minutes south via the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway.

Site Director - We are also searching for a site director at this location if you are interested in leadership opportunities. A unique opportunity to combine clinical practice with meaningful leadership and program development. This hands-on leadership role blends active OB hospitalist care with oversight of program quality, team performance, and strategic collaboration with hospital leadership, nursing, and the local OB community.

This position offers:

  • 21+ days off per month

  • No clinic or on-call

  • Competitive compensation package with productivity bonuses

  • Comprehensive benefits: Medical, dental, vision, malpractice with tail, CME, retirement with employer match

  • Sign-on bonus

  • Flexible scheduling

  • Paid malpractice insurance with tail

The hospitalist model allows you to focus entirely on the patient. You can help correct a disparity of care by ensuring that all pregnant women who present to the hospital are evaluated by an experienced physician rather than funneled through the conventional nurse-led phone triage.

As an OBHG clinician you are the in-house expert, serving as the maternal safety champion of the entire labor and delivery unit. You'll improve patient safety, reduce maternal mortality rates and help alleviate physician burnout. A typical work day might include collaborating with local private-practice OB/GYNs, assisting with emergent cases, caring for unassigned patients, overseeing residents or meeting with hospital leaders to design a new quality initiative.
