Your Role As a per diem Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) on our acute care team, you'll play a key role in helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. This role offers flexible, primarily weekend and holiday coverageideal for maintaining work-life balance. You'll work closely with an Occupational Therapist to support patient recovery through hands-on care, collaboration, and compassionate communication.
What You'll Do
- Partner with Occupational Therapists to assess patients' abilities in daily living, work, and recreational activities
- Help identify physical, cognitive, and psychosocial factors affecting patient function
- Deliver targeted, age-appropriate therapy interventions to support recovery and independence
- Educate patients and families using clear, engaging communication methods
- Collaborate with the care team to adjust treatment plans and ensure the best outcomes
- Track patient progress and document care to maintain continuity and meet professional standards

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program, Associate degree.
- Connecticut registration required
- Strong communication skills
- Acute care experience preferred
