Description

Essential Functions:

  1. Set up and operate production machinery according to specific standards and protocols of the company
  2. Ascertain that each machine is properly calibrated at the beginning of each shift so that it provides optimum output
  3. Test the operation of machines periodically to guarantee their smooth running
  4. Look through work orders to determine type and quantity of materials needed for each production batch
  5. Measure and grade batches of raw materials and feed them into production machinery
  6. Check output to discover any machine-related mistakes or flaws
  7. Maintain activity logs
  8. Assemble goods and report any faults to the supervisor on an immediate basis
  9. Monitor processes to ensure that they are run properly and ensure that basic quality control and quality assurance tests are performed
  10. Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
  11. Store goods and raw materials in factory storage areas and warehouses in manners conducive to ensuring their quality and safety
  12. Prepare cartons and crates for packaging purposes and ensure that items are properly and safely packed into them
  13. Inspect finished products to ensure that they conform to quality standards and isolate any non-conformed or damaged items
  14. Communicate problems with machinery, raw and end products to the Team Leader or Supervisor
  15. Some assignments may require entering production data into Epicor
  16. Perform preventative and regular maintenance on machines to ensure that their operational life is extended
  17. When needed, act as a productive team member in other areas of the manufacturing process
  18. Participate in 5S activities daily
  19. Participate in TFPS initiatives

Requirements

  1. High School Diploma or GED preferred
  2. 0 3 years of experience in a factory/assembly environment
  3. Adherence to health and safety policies and regulations (e.g. constant proper use of protective equipment)
  4. Understanding of basic production procedures
  5. Ability to use tape measure, calipers, and other measuring devices
  6. Ability to comprehend, or to learn to comprehend, part specification prints and assembly instructions
  7. Attention to detail
  8. Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items (up to 40 pounds alone and occasionally up to 75 pounds using team lifting) and work overtime
  9. Ability to effectively communicate written and oral communications skills
  10. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  11. Analytical and problem-solving skills
  12. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts desired
