Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Part-Time Early Intervention Program (EIP) Teacher (20 hours per week) to join our team at Arcado Elementary School. In this role, you will provide targeted, research-based interventions to help students performing below grade level acquire the necessary academic skills to reach grade-level proficiency. As an integral part of our Response to Intervention (RTI) framework, you will collaborate closely with classroom teachers and school staff to deliver high-impact instruction and foster student growth.


Qualifications


Required:

  • Certification: Active Georgia Educator Certification in Early Childhood Education (P-5) issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.


Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Active Georgia Reading Endorsement or completion of the Reading Recovery Program.
  • Proven track record of successfully impacting student achievement and closing learning gaps in an elementary setting.


Core Skills & Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of the GCPS Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) curriculum and elementary pedagogical strategies.
  • Proven expertise in administering and analyzing diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments to guide instructional decisions.
  • Mastery of research-based intervention strategies, including scaffolded instruction, vocabulary building, and literacy/numeracy skill development.
  • Proficiency in integrating instructional technology to enhance student engagement and track learning.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills to collaborate effectively with administrators, colleagues, and families.


Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Intervention & Instruction: Plan and deliver targeted, small-group or push-in/pull-out instruction to eligible EIP students using approved GCPS delivery models.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Administer assessments with fidelity, monitor student progress, and analyze data to identify learning gaps and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Collaborative Support: Partner with classroom teachers to provide specialized strategies, resources, and alignment with core classroom instruction.
  • Classroom Management & Environment: Establish a structured, supportive, and culturally responsive learning environment that encourages active participation and mutual respect.
  • Professional & Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate assessment and attendance records, participate in professional learning, and communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress within the designated 20-hour weekly schedule.

  • Student Teachers / Recent Graduates: References from your university supervisor and cooperating teacher.
  • Non Traditional Candidates: Reference from your most recent direct supervisor.
