Parts Clerk

The primary responsibility of the Parts Clerk is to fulfill part requests and assist in the overall functions of the parts department. Essential job functions include filling customer and technician part requests/orders in a timely manner, determining correct part numbers and picking parts for orders received, using a computer-based system to enter/record required data, receiving/processing product from vendors, maintaining parts/model data from a variety of sources, maintaining accurate inventory records, stocking incoming inventory in the correct location, recommending layout improvements to the parts department manager and assisting in physical rearrangement of layout, developing a comprehensive understanding of schematic manuals, assembling/disassembling whole units and/or components as needed, maintaining the parts department in a clean and orderly manner, arranging for delivery or shipment of parts as required, conducting periodic inventory audits and resolving discrepancies, performing data input of required material, completing accurate defective part documentation, and miscellaneous daily tasks including shipping support and clean-up activities.

Requirements include a high school diploma or the equivalent, basic knowledge of electronic parts such as IC, transistor, PCB, etc., ability to view complex part numbers and handle very small components, good organizational and decision-making skills, ability to read and interpret parts diagrams and technical manuals, effective communication skills, detail-oriented, working knowledge of Windows, ability to learn new applications and programs, ability to lift and/or move objects with a weight of 20 to 70 lbs, and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
