Essential duties and responsibilities include picking up and delivering parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors. The parts driver checks with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counter people, or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving to coordinate any last minute pick-ups or deliveries. The parts driver delivers parts to the body shop when needed and distributes to appropriate body technicians. The parts driver verifies that the invoice matches the purchase order for each pick-up. The parts driver checks payments received with the invoices for each delivery. The parts driver keeps an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups. The parts driver requests the recipient's signature on each delivery entry. The parts driver unloads the truck each night. The parts driver turns in all paperwork and undelivered parts. The parts driver handles basic maintenance of the truck including filling the tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean, and making sure required inspections are performed. The parts driver advises the parts manager if delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance. The parts driver assists the service department as needed with attendant responsibilities of managing the drop-off and pick-up of customer cars. The parts driver helps with stocking and posting orders when they arrive to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts. The parts driver maintains a professional attitude with co-workers, customers, vendors. The parts driver follows the dress code the company has put in place. The parts driver maintains a clean and neat work area. The parts driver follows federal, state, and local law as well as company policy about safeguarding all information. The parts driver reports on time to work and follows the schedule that is given. The parts driver calls the supervisor if he/she cannot be at work on time. The parts driver keeps current with annual HR training along with any other training that might be required for this position. The parts driver follows all company policies and procedures. The parts driver notifies the supervisor of any illegal activity.
