Our Pediatric Residency Program offers physicians the opportunity to combine meaningful clinical practice with medical education, mentorship, and community impact.

Position Summary

TFHC is seeking a Pediatrician to provide comprehensive care to infants, children, and adolescents while serving as Residency Faculty.

This position combines direct patient care with resident supervision, clinical teaching, and mentorship. The ideal candidate is passionate about pediatric medicine, medical education, and improving healthcare access for underserved communities.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive pediatric care, including preventive visits, acute treatment, developmental assessments, and chronic disease management.

  • Diagnose and treat patients, develop treatment plans, and coordinate specialty referrals.

  • Educate patients and families regarding wellness, treatment, and disease prevention.

  • Teach, supervise, evaluate, and mentor pediatric residents.

  • Participate in continuity clinics, didactic sessions, case discussions, and educational activities.

  • Collaborate with residency leadership on curriculum development, program improvement, and accreditation readiness.

  • Support quality improvement, scholarly activities, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with applicable regulatory and organizational requirements.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.

  • Completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency Program.

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics, meeting applicable residency faculty requirements.

  • Active, unrestricted Florida medical license.

  • Active DEA registration and current BLS certification.

  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Commitment to resident education and compassionate, patient-centered care.

Preferred: Previous teaching or residency faculty experience and familiarity with ACGME requirements.

NHSC Student Loan Repayment Opportunities - Up to $80,000!

Tampa Family Health Centers operates National Health Service Corps (NHSC)-approved locations, providing eligible Pediatricians with the opportunity to significantly reduce educational debt while serving communities in need.

Eligible physicians may qualify for up to $80,000 in student loan repayment, including an additional award for qualifying Spanish-language proficiency.

Additional repayment opportunities may be available through continuation contracts following the initial service commitment.

NHSC loan repayment is separate from TFHC compensation and employee benefits. Eligibility and awards are determined by HRSA based on qualifying educational debt, assigned practice location, clinical service and teaching requirements, available funding, and applicable program guidelines.

Please note that the employee's initial training schedule may differ from the regular schedule of the position. All new hires, including part-time employees, must be available for up to 40 hours of in-person, on-site training during their first week. Additional mandatory training may continue for approximately two to three weeks, depending on the position and training requirements. Training may take place at a TFHC location other than the employee's assigned work location.
