Pharmacist, Retail Retail Pharmacist, PRN Job Preview The Retail Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing and controlling both prescription and non-prescription medications. The Retail Pharmacist reviews prescriptions and compounds and dispenses drugs according to regulatory requirements and guidelines in a retail environment. Responsibilities - Enter, fill, check patient orders - Checking dosage and ensuring that medicines are correctly and safely supplied and labeled - Advising patients about medicines, including how to take them, what reactions may occur and answering patients' questions - Supervising the preparation of any medicines - Review and interpret prescription orders to verify accuracy and appropriateness - Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care plans - Selling over-the-counter medicines - Counseling and advising the public on the treatment of minor illnesses - Dispensing prescription medicines to customers - Oversee the ordering and storage of medical products to ensure safety and compliance with regulations - Manage pharmacy staff and oversee day-to-day operations - Keep up-to-date records of patients' prescriptions - Monitor the health and progress of patients in response to drug therapy - Ensure the pharmacy complies with all local and federal regulations - Perform regular inventory audits to ensure accurate dispensing Requirements - Availability to work 1 to 2 days per week & available to cover full-time pharmacist PTO requests and/or sick days - Must be a licensed pharmacist in the State of Illinois or eligible to become licensed in the State of Illinois. - Proven experience as a pharmacist - Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, medical brands etc. - Outstanding knowledge of MS Office and Pharmacy information systems (eg. RX30, CPSI) - Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology - Good organizational skills - Excellent communication skills with a customer-oriented approach - Integrity and compassion - Degree in Pharmacy/Pharmacology - Valid license to practice the profession Physical Job Requirements: - Lifting (25-50 lbs.) - Being on your feet most of the day (extended walking and standing) - Repetitive movements - Stooping and bending - Vision and hearing required - Pushing and pulling - Reaching above the head and bending of the neck - Close vision work (computer work, reading small print) - Sitting Compensation details: 59-70 Hourly Wage PIfe4f47dffcbe-29400-37516092
