Physical Therapist - Travel Contract
Apply NowLooking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Provide skilled physical therapy services in a hospital setting in Alexandria, VA. The Physical Therapist evaluates patients, develops and implements individualized treatment plans, delegates and directs discipline-specific therapy services, and educates patients, families, students and coworkers. The clinician will document care in compliance with hospital, state, and federal guidelines, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to address barriers to discharge, and participate in professional development and performance improvement activities. The role requires adherence to professional codes of conduct, state practice acts, and organizational safety expectations.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
- Active Virginia physical therapy license required to start the assignment.
- Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
- Experience working in an acute care or hospital setting preferred.
- Demonstrated competency in comprehensive patient evaluation, goal writing, and progress toward discharge planning.
- Proven ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and manage individual and concurrent treatment sessions.
- Experience with medical record documentation, including letters of medical necessity, discharge summaries, and charge entry.
- Ability to supervise and educate students and support professional development activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior travel or contract therapy experience preferred.
- Experience with safe patient handling programs and equipment preferred.

- Shift pattern: 5x8.
- Assignment is located in Alexandria, VA hospital setting.
