Physician Cardiology - Competitive Salary

A locum tenens opportunity is available for a skilled cardiologist at a hospital setting in Mount Vernon, IL. The position involves inpatient care, including rounding and covering STEMI cases, with the support of RNs in the cath lab. You'll collaborate with two other interventional cardiologists and provide expertise in advanced cardiac procedures. The schedule includes 24-hour coverage with shifts from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

• Perform and interpret right and left heart catheterization, ventriculography, and angiography.
• Manage inpatient consults and derive cases.
• Read echocardiograms and EKGs for unassigned patients.
• Provide STEMI call coverage and perform necessary interventions.

• MD/DO with Board Certification in Cardiology.
• Fellowship in Cardiology required.
• Must hold or be willing to obtain a state license; IMLC/Compact Licensure accepted.
• ACLS certification required.
• CSR required.
• Minimum of 2 years of cardiology experience.

• Rotating shifts from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with 24-hour STEMI coverage.

• Proficient in advanced cardiac procedures including temporary pacemaker insertion, PTCA, DCA, and various forms of atherectomy.
• Expertise in intravascular ultrasound, coronary stents, and peripheral vascular interventions.
• Familiarity with EMR systems, particularly EPIC.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
