Physician - Emergency Medicine

Job Details:

• Emergency Medicine Physician coverage needed with 1-2 physicians covering day hours and 1 physician covering night hours


• Shift lengths are 9-12 hours with no on-call requirements


• 1-2 Advanced Practice Providers on staff with supervision of APPs expected


• Average ED volume of 77 patients per day with 33,000 annual visits


• Peak/busiest shifts occur during 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM


• Less than 3% of patients are transferred out


• Level 3 Trauma Center with 250 beds


• Teaching hospital opportunity


• EMR system: EPIC


• Average of 15 open shifts per month available on a first come, first served basis - candidates must be able to cover a significant number of open shifts


• Open shifts available include dates in November 2026, December 2026, and January 2027 across day, evening, and overnight time slots


• Board Certified (ABEM only) required


• Active Iowa License or IMLC required


• ACLS and ATLS certifications required


• Clean background required
