Physician - Emergency Medicine

Job Details:

• Emergency Medicine physician needed for ongoing full-time coverage


• Shift times available are 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM


• ABEM board certification preferred; exceptions made for strong experienced providers


• 3-4 positions available


• Average patient census of 55-60 patients daily, approximately 2 patients per hour with occasional larger patient volumes


• Most common cases include medical complaints such as chest pain, abdominal pain, and shortness of breath, as well as basic trauma including falls, motor vehicle collisions, and sports injuries; severe or penetrating trauma is rare


• Required procedures include ED procedures such as intubation, procedural sedation, fracture reduction/splinting, chest tube, CPR, suture repair, incision & drainage, and central line placement


• One emergency medicine physician typically on staff per shift


• No call coverage required


• Two shadow shifts required for orientation
