Physician - Emergency Medicine

Job Details:

• Provide locum coverage in an Emergency Department setting for an ongoing need through 2027


• 2 full-time locum physicians needed with varied shift availability based on facility needs


• Shift times include:
  • Mid: 11:00 AM 8:00 PM (daily)
  • AM: 7:00 AM 4:00 PM Monday Friday / 7:00 AM 3:00 PM Saturday Sunday
  • PM: 2:00 PM 11:00 PM Monday Friday / 3:00 PM 11:00 PM Saturday Sunday
  • Night shifts (6:00 PM 3:00 AM or 10:00 PM 7:00 AM) may be added in 2027 depending on coverage needs


• Ideal provider would be available for approximately 2 weeks of coverage per month (15 shifts) on an ongoing basis, including some holidays


• Provide high-quality emergency medical care including evaluation, treatment, and disposition of patients


• Work collaboratively with attending physicians to manage a broad spectrum of emergency conditions


• Ensure effective patient handoffs and communication with consultants, hospitalists, and other care teams


• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes


• Patient volume averages 8 14 patients per day with mostly medical, low trauma, medium to high acuity cases


• EMR system: EPIC


• Support staff includes RNs


• Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible (ABEM/AOBEM)


• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Medicine experience required


• Active Washington State license required (IMLC not accepted)


• Emergency Medicine Fellowship required for physicians


• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and DEA


• Clean background and malpractice history required


• Provider must be willing and able to work varied shifts per facility's needs

This is a well-established medical center operating a busy Emergency Department that serves a diverse urban patient population. The facility handles a broad range of emergency conditions with a focus on medical cases ranging from medium to high acuity, with low trauma volume. The department is supported by a dedicated team of RNs and utilizes EPIC as its electronic medical records system, ensuring streamlined and efficient patient care delivery.
