Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
Fellowship training in Headache Medicine required
State of Michigan License
Expertise in managing complex headache disorders, including chronic migraine, cluster headache, and medication overuse headache
Proficiency with headache procedures such as botulinum toxin injections and nerve blocks
Strong communication and patient education skills
Duties & Responsibilities
A typical day may include:
Evaluating and managing patients with primary and secondary headache disorders
Performing procedures such as Botox for chronic migraine and peripheral nerve blocks
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including pain management, behavioral health, and primary care
Developing individualized treatment plans, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic approaches
Educating patients on lifestyle modifications, treatment adherence, and migraine management strategies
Participating in team-based care initiatives and quality improvement projects
