Physician - Infectious Disease
Job Details:
- Serve as Chief of Infectious Disease, leading an integrated team of 4 physicians at the regional level while collaborating with over 25 Infectious Disease physicians system-wide
- Report directly to the System Director of Infectious Disease
- Drive continued growth of the Section of Infectious Disease
- Establish communication lines across all service lines to provide departmental support
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior faculty
- Oversee the hospital epidemiology program, working closely with Infection Prevention teams
- Collaborate with Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacists on system-wide initiatives
- Perform inpatient consultations and manage outpatient services including HIV and Hepatitis C treatment, STDs, and travel medicine
- Participate in post-graduate medical education for residents and medical students
- Appointment at the Assistant Professor level through Quinnipiac University
- No primary care responsibilities
- Active Hospitalist program in place to support inpatient care
- Shared call structure with other Infectious Disease physicians
- Board Certification in Infectious Disease required; MD or DO degree required
- Minimum 3-5 years of clinical experience required
- Prior leadership experience (e.g., Section Chief, Medical Director) preferred
- Experience in a multi-site health system preferred
- Eligibility for Connecticut medical licensure required
