Job Details:

• Locum coverage needed in Medical Oncology at a free-standing cancer center


• Dates of coverage: November 2 January 29


• Clinic hours: 8:30 AM 4:30 PM


• Weekend call rotation: Friday (4:30 PM) Monday (8:00 AM), every 5th or 6th weekend


• Call schedule: 1 week out of every 6 8 weeks


• Patient population: Adult and Geriatric


• Practice breakdown: 65% benign hematology, 35% malignant oncology


• Average outpatient volume: 25 patients per day


• Average inpatient volume (call/rounding): 20 patients per day


• Outpatient and inpatient services are separate; providers will not cover both on the same day


• Inpatient coverage is a requirement; candidates unwilling to participate in inpatient coverage will not be considered


• Required duties include participation on a Tumor Board, management of Bone Marrow Transplants, Blood Bank oversight, ordering tests and images, and prescribing


• Chemotherapy administration handled by Nurse Oncologist


• Documentation system: EPIC


• Practice includes 7 physicians and 6 APPs


• Board Certification in Hematology/Oncology required


• Active SC license, BLS, and DEA required


• Candidates must disclose ability to provide 2 4 weeks per month
