Assignment Details
• Start/end: 10/1/2026, indefinitely; 7-10 days/month, up to 14
• Schedule: Preferred is bookend weekends with the connecting week in between (TBD); call only; beeper call, 20-min response, 1:2 ratio, variable callback
• Coverage type: Call only, inpatient
• Volume: Variable; ~4-5 phone consults, 4-5 seen, 4-5 admissions; 99 beds
• Setting: Level 2 trauma, stroke certified, admissions required
• Support: 1 MA, 3 PA/NPs, 1 office staff
• EMR: Epic
• Credentialing: ~90 days
Clinical Details
• Required scope: General CV/thoracic surgery (open and endoscopic), CABG (on/off pump), congenital defects, valvular repair/replacement, aneurysm repair (cardiac and aorto-thoracic), lung resection (VATS), chest wall/pleural, esophagus/diaphragm, AICD, LVAD, TAVR, vent management, bronchoscopy, central/arterial/PA line and IABP insertion
• Cardiothoracic only; vascular covered by a separate service
• Rounds on assigned and unassigned patients
Requirements
• Board certified or board eligible in Thoracic/Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Fellowship
• License: any state accepted
• ACLS, ATLS
• Active DEA
Compensation
• Rate negotiable, open to your number
• Malpractice provided
• Travel and lodging reimbursed
