Job Description

We are recruiting a Plant Manager for a Fortune 500 manufacturer to lead operations at two manufacturing facilities: one in the Akron, Ohio area and a second in southern Wisconsin. This is a senior plant leadership role for someone who can drive safety, production performance, quality, cost improvement, and employee development across both locations.

The ideal candidate will bring prior plant management experience in a PSM-regulated manufacturing environment. Experience leading a union workforce is strongly preferred.


Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing operations across two plant locations, including production, maintenance, quality, logistics, and overall plant performance
  • Drive OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM), environmental compliance, and a strong plant-wide safety culture
  • Develop plant leadership teams and create accountability around safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives
  • Improve OEE, throughput, downtime, scrap, productivity, and operating costs
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, corrective action, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure production schedules and quality standards support customer requirements and on-time delivery
  • Maintain quality systems aligned with ISO 9000 standards
  • Partner with employees and union leadership on workforce and operational matters


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline
  • Significant plant operations leadership experience, including responsibility for large manufacturing teams
  • Previous Plant Manager or comparable manufacturing leadership experience
  • Hands-on experience in OSHA PSM-regulated manufacturing environments
  • Union manufacturing experience, including labor relations, grievances, or collective bargaining, strongly preferred
  • Background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, OEE, continuous improvement, ISO 9000, and plant safety
  • Specialty materials, polymer films, membranes, microporous substrates, engineered sheet products, or phosgene-derived chemical manufacturing experience is highly desirable
  • Ability to oversee operations in both Ohio and southern Wisconsin
